Special

At Willow Lane, OC&N superintendent Don Elbert and his crews switched locomotives, placing 45-tonner 4764 at the head of the train. The 84 (considered the better looking locomotive!) would follow at a distance, and then pull the special south for photos.

North of Willow Lane, our special covered OC&N’s less-used track to the island end of the Sakonnet River causeway, where the long Tiverton Draw swing bridge had been removed. (OC&N’s Sunday trips, and the Newport Dinner Train and Island Tour Train, do not come this far.)
