Mass Bay RRE's 2003 Rhode Ireland Limited ran March 15 with 65 passengers and staff, celebrating St. Patrick's Day two days early on the Old Colony & Newport tourist railroad out of Newport, RI. New England's "old-fashioned winter" of 2002-2003 chilled the air and left patches of snow along the right-of-way.
About 45 riders checked in at South Station before MBTA local #1001 to Middleboro left at 8:25 AM; more boarded at Braintree and points south. We enjoyed coffee and scones en route before connecting to a chartered motorcoach at Middleboro.
